Chace was brought up in Plano, Texas where his mother Dana is a teacher and father Chris, a dermatologist. His younger sister, Candice won the title of Miss Missouri USA 2008. He stayed in Minnesota for about four years and after completing high school went to Pepperdine University in Malibu, California to pursue broadcast journalism.

Career:
He changed many career options like business, advertising, communications majors, after which he took his mother’s advice to pursue acting in second year as a career aptitude test had indicated performing arts the best option for him.
And perhaps that was correct as the first talent agent he went to see, signed him immediately.
He has worked in films like Long Lost Son (2006), The Covenant (2006), Loaded (2007) and The Haunting of Molly Hartley (2008).

He has worked in television shows like Family Guy and Gossip Girl where he plays a prominent character Nate Archibald.

Gossip Girl/Nate Archibald:
Nate Archibald is a rich, though grounded boy who seems quite concerned about his family, especially his domineering and drug addict father, The Captain, who wants him to marry Blair Waldorf for money. Nate has had a long relationship with Blair, but gets infatuated by Serena, Blair’s best friend in the middle, which complicates their relationship. Later, when he discovers that Blair had slept with his best friend Chuck, he breaks up with her for good. Other then Serena and Blair, he also develops a soft spot for Jenny and Vanessa, as the story progresses.

Crawford won the Teen Choice Award 2008 for this show in the category of Choice TV Breakout Star Male.

Crawford lives with Gossip Girl co-star Ed Westwick in the Chelsea neighborhood. He also is participating for a public service campaign called Do Something's Teens for Jeans campaign.
