The second season premiered on September One, 2008 and consisted of twenty five episodes. Some characters that have been added in this season are Agnes [Willa Holland] and Aaron Rose [John Patrick Amedori]. Besides them the other characters included are Catherine Mason [Mädchen Amick] and Marcus [Patrick Heusinger]
During the summer, Nate has an affair with Catherine Mason, a married older woman.

Her step – son, in the meanwhile hooked up with Blair Waldorf. Chuck tries hard to get Blair back from Marcus and even befriends Marcus for this. Serena and Dan patch up secretly but the Gossip Girl spills out the beans.
