Growing Up
Leighton Meester’s parents, Doug and Connie were both involved in the drug trade and subsequently convicted. Leighton was born in a prison hospital after and was raised by her relatives during the time her mother was doing her sentence. Later she went to the Beverly Hills High School.

Career:
After featuring in The Wizard of Oz, Meester was drawn into acting. At the age of eleven, moving to New York, she got a Ralph Lauren campaign [she was represented by Wilhelmina].

In 1999 she got her first television break in the legal drama Law & Order after which she featured in several television shows like, Surface, House, Veronica Mars, Entourage, CSI: Miami, Shark, 8 Simple Rules, 24 etc.

In the modeling arena, she is soon going to be the new face of Reebok.

Her career in films began in 2003 with the movie Hangman’s Curse which was based on the best-selling book written by Frank Peretti. This was followed by movies like, Numb3rs, Flourish, Drive-Thru (was filmed in 2006 and she even worked on the soundtrack of the movie), Remember the Daze (2007) and Killer Movie (2008) etc.

Gossip Girl::

The hit CW network show Gossip Girl, also has Meester in a prominent lead role, in which she enacts the character of Blair Waldorf. Blair is a single thus pampered child of now separated parents. Her mother is a successful fashion designer and her father who lives in Paris is a gay. She is the queen bee of the extremely rich inner circle, a group of socialite teens, of the posh Upper East Side of Manhattan. Blair is at times snobbish, self centered and scheming, but has to really strive hard to achieve what she wants unlike her best friend, Serena van der Woodsen. Though she has had an affair with childhood friend, Nate Archibald, later she hooks up with another friend, the pervert Chuck Bass.

Leighton devotes her leisure time in creative writing and music. She lives at the West Village in New York. She is going out with actor Sebastian Stan.
