Terence Yoshiaki, Brian Lapin and Mike Fratantuno, who together work under the name‘The Transcenders’ composed the score for the show. The music for ‘Lincoln Hawk’, Rufus Humphrey’s Band in the show is also done by this Los Angeles based production team.

The very famous music consultant Alexander Patsavas is working for the selection of music on Gossip Girl. She has previously worked for Supernatural, Shark, Tru Calling, The O.C. and Grey’s Anatomy, the latter two succeeding hugely with their music score.

Though Alexander Patsavas is more known for her use of alternative artists and independent music she is inclined towards the current Top 40 hits for The Gossip Girl.

She was quoted explaining her initiative as "I'm relying on old favorites while exploring current pop music. And since the show revolves primarily around high school students in New York, we'll definitely be using some New York-based bands. But these kids listen to the radio, too."
